The first clue that supports this is the fact that Naughty Dog mentioned working on some prototypes of a sequel to the The Last of Us before beginning Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – and said that they would revisit those prototypes once they had finished that series’ swan song.
According to Neil Druckmann, creative director of Naughty Dog, the game’s designers have been hard at work brainstorming a satisfactory way to follow up on the ideas in The Last of Us:
The biggest hint, however, comes from Uncharted 4 itself. A poster found in game, pictured above, shows an apocalyptic background with a pregnant women wearing a gas mask. While the title is covered up, it appears to read The Last of Us, with the subtitle “American Daughters.” Is the woman pictured a grown-up Ellie? Or a different character entirely? Perhaps we’ll know when E3 rolls around.
